#18 Umm... stuff?
This is update is here because I feel like it. On Thursday, one of my uncles visited from California. He stayed that night and on Friday we went boating with him (I only worked two hours that day). It was pretty fun, we drove all around Chatham and checked some places out. The storms have changed the sand bars around a lot. Anyway, he left today, in the morning. I went to a sound check for my church this morning. They're puttin on a show at the Falmouth Band Shell next to the Falmouth Harbor. I'll be running sound, which is why I went to the sound check. Get it? Got it? Good. :P
My cousins from Sweden are coming here to stay for three weeks tonight. I'm pretty excited about it. :)
Lastly, I updated my Photoshop section for the first time in like six months. I added a new piece of art called "Adoration." I don't know why I named it that. I guess it was the first cool title that popped into my head. Check it out.

#17 Happy Independence Day!
Happy Indenpence Day from your favorite web designer, Philip MacDonald! It has been two hundred and thirty years since America became an independent nation. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it. I know I did. Last night I went to our town's fireworks (which are some of the best I must say). Today I bought some Native Sunglasses which are very awesome. I then went bike riding along the canal with my family and topped it off with a swim at the beach. A great day indeed. :)

#16 What happened to Phil MacDonald?
A little while ago, a search on Google for either Phil or Philip MacDonald placed me in the top five for both. Well, eager to see if I was #1 for both, I searched for both Phil MacDonald and Philip MacDonald. I was sadly mistaken. I have now been moved back to the 8th page of Google. I don't know what happened. I have even added more keywords that would direct you to this site if searched for. I'm really disappointed about this.
On a better note, things are pick up with Strength in Style. We've had a good several customers in the past few weeks. I hope it picks up a little more. Maybe you can help by spreading the word. :)

#15 Update, update, where is the update?
I know, I know, I haven't updated the site in a while. I have a lot of stuff to put up in my web portfolio. That would explain why the site hasn't been updated in a while. I've been working on lots of various sites, including my first skin for a forum, which turned out great. I should be putting some of that stuff up soon.

#14 Capture the Flag, School is out, etc.
We had our annual school Capture the Flag Day at Falmouth Academy on Friday, May 26. Of course it was a blast once again. About 150 or so students and teachers participate in a large scale capture the flag game. It takes place over an area of several acres, including two sports fields and other various areas of the school campus. The blue team was supposed to totally destroy the white team (my team). Well it turns out the white team controlled the game for most of the time. Unfortunately, it ended in a tie when one of the flags twenty feet from the border had been captured. My brother guarded that flag for forty five minutes, until he went after some people trying to get it. It was all good fun.
On another note, Tuesday marked the end of classes! We now have five finals, one for each day which are each two hours long. I already took my English final, which I think I did pretty good on.

#13 FA 2006 Lacrosse Seasons Comes to an End
On Monday we beat Saint Thomas More 12-6. It was a pretty fun game. That's not really what this post is about though.
We had our SENEISSA final today against Rocky Hill (see below for more information). Unfortunately we lost. Unfortunately, their team didn't have the best sportsmanship. I won't say much other than that. Phil Besse, our senior goalie had an amazing day in net. So, ya, the final outcome was 10-2. I think the highlight of the game went something like this:
Coach Earley: Where's Rob?
Rob: Right here. Want me to wreck somebody?
Coach Earley: No, just win the face off.

#12 Regular Season Lacrosse Ends
Well, on we had our season closer today against the Saint Andrews Saints, located in Barrington, Rhode Island. It was home. We had a huge tailgate at our school. Anyway, we won 12-3. It was pretty fun. A big guy on Saint Andrews, about 6 ' 6 " and at least 250 pounds was covering me a lot of the time. He had fun hacking away at me. He got a trip and a 2 minute slash on me, so it's all good. On Monday we play Saint Thomas More, at home for the SENEISSA (South Eastern New England Independent Schools) semi-finals. We have played them twice before and won both times by four. Apparently, their seniors already graduated, so it should be an easy win. Then we have our finals against Rocky Hill on Wednesday. That won't be as easy. We'll just hope for the best.

#11 Goodbye Net Neutrality
Well I'm not very excited right about now. Here is why. Basically it means that web owners will have to pay extra if they don't want their website to go at super slow speeds, or just redirect them to a competitor instead. Just read the article. It will explain things a lot better than I will. The good news is it hasn't been signed yet! Visit this website to write to your congress men and representative, telling them you don't want this to happen!

#9 Site Work
I did some work on my website. For one, I removed the forums because nobody was really using them. Secondly I added a skip to content link at the top of each page, so if you don't feel like looking at my pretty banner you can just press skip to content and it will take you to all the text. Lastly, I added something called access keys. Access keys will allow you to go to a link without ever having to click anything. On a PC you hold ALT and the corresponding key, on a Mac you hold Control and the corresponding key. Here's how I set mine up: While holding alt or control, press 1 to skip to content, 2 to go to the homepage, 3 to go to art, 4 to go to web, 5 to go to animations, 6 to go to links, 7 to go to about, and 8 to go to contact. Get it? Got it? Good.

#8 Honk if You're Happy
Following my visit to the emergency room to get my arm checked out, I attended a Christian Youth Convention in... Connecticut. So we cruised down there topping out at 57 MPH on our beast of a red bus. The whole way up some kids taped some signs to the back of the bus window. One read "Honk if you're happy." I was kind of interested in this. So for twenty minutes I tallied forty-three people who were happy and 9 losers who just waved. In thirty seconds I counted 19 cars that passed us. That's 38 cars a minute, 760 cars in twenty minutes. That's about one in seventeen people that were happy, given that everyone saw the sign. Let's do some more math though. There are three, twenty minute periods in an hour. So 38 times 3 gives us 114 people who passed us that were happy in an hour. Now, 760 times 3 is 2280 cars that passed us in an hour. Let's just multiply both those numbers by three to give us a rough estimate of how many cars passed us during the trip and how many of them were happy. 114 times 3 is 342 people that passed us in three hours were happy. 2280 times 3 is 6840 cars that passed us in three hours (boy were we going slow). Well, that's disappointing that so many people are not happy or can't read. I'm done now.
One a side note, I only have 23 days of school left. Yay!

#7 STM Win With a Side Order of Contusion
Well on Wednesday, April 26, we traveled to Saint Thomas More school in Connecticut (three hour drive). They are a second chance school, for kids that might have had run-ins with the law before, so they can be pretty brutal. Anyway, we had a nice ride up, leaving school at 12:15. I slept most of the way, since I forgot my CD player. Well, the highlights of the game for me were: one assist, one goal, one arm rape, and of course a win. I was going to get a ground ball and some kid with a defense stick winds up all the way and slams his stick on me. He did not hit my stick at all, but rather my arm. I had a massive lump on my arm which looked like a tumor. The final score was 14-10, us. The ride home was fun, again. We stopped at Wendy's for dinner and I stocked up on food from the dollar menu. Alden gave us his second synopsis of Hostile. I got home at 8:30 and went to sleep almost immediatly. Well several days passed and it still looked as if I had a tumor on my arm. My Mom was worried, so she took me to the emergency room to have it x-rayed. I just have a contusion (bruised bone). I'll be ready for our next game. :P

#6 Lacrosse Spiel
I know, it's been quite a while since I've posted anything here. I've been doing a big of work on ModHalo.net, Halo CE Web Ring, and Strength in Style (well, I could be doing more work on Strength in Style). But! Falmouth Academy Varsity Lacrosse did have their fourth game today. We defeated Saint Thomas Moore School for a 3-1 record. Previously we won against Saint Andrew's and Cape Cod Academy and lost to Rocky Hill. I had my first varsity lacrosse goal today which was exciting. I guess that's all for now.

#5 Florida Fun
I just got back from Florida. Let me start off by saying it was a blast! We flew into Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Tuesday, March 7th. We drove North to my Uncle's house in Boca Raton. He kindly let us stay in his guest house, which was a really nice house. On Thursday we drove to Miami Beach and then to Key Largo. The next morning, on Friday we had reservations to go snorkeling at a reef, but unfortunately, it was canceled. So, as we were about to leave the Keyes, we stopped off at the information center and we found a boat going out. Although the visibility in the water wasn't so great, it was better than nothing. Well we headed back to Boca Raton after that. We spent the next several days relaxing and spending some of our time at the Boca Raton Resort and Club. On Monday we went back to Fort Lauderdale to see the King Tut exhibit at the Museum of Art. After eating lunch we went to the Everglades for an airboat tour. Then it was back to Boca again! We spent the next few days going to the beach and watching movies at the night, until, unfortunately, we had to fly back Thursday, March 16th. I had a great time! -Posted by Phil, Friday, March 17th, 2006
#4 Snow to Swim
This past weekend we went up to Sunday River to hit up some snowboarding/skiing before we go down to Florida on Tuesday. Sunday River Resort did a very nice job at making snow given the fact that there was barely any snow on the ground. It was all lots of fun. Unfortunately, I became sick while we were there from various people coughing and sneezing on me. It's a bummer, but I'm sure I'll be good to go for Tuesday.

#3 Science Fair Has Come and Gone
Any student that has gone to Falmouth Academy before knows that when we talk about Science Fair, it's not the kind of thing where you make a sculpture of a volcano or anything. Science Fair is long, hard, and at many times very stressful! My science fair project was titled "What is the best height above ground to place a wind turbine". I don't really feel like getting into the details of it, but if you are interested, you can just give me a ring. I ended having twelve pages of data and a thirty-one page final paper. However, all of the work did kind of pay off. I won a "Honorable Mention" award. Not too shabby. Just recently I received a $25 check from Falmouth Academy for it. Sweet! Now that I'm done with Science Fair it looks like my next project will be working on our English Monologues. But, after that there is one sure thing I can look forward to: two weeks of March vacation!

#2 Version 2.0 Released
Well if you haven't noticed, version 2.0 of Philipmac.com has been released! I'm very excited about it. The new design is easier on the eyes, more simple, and just over all more pleasing. I finally got started on it Sunday morning after Pete had been bugging me to change the site before he had to get laser eye surgery due to the eye damage my site had caused him. You can see the old site here
I also deleted all my entries because they were all pretty much just fixes for version 1.0. I'm thinking of using this as a blog and announcment for artwork and the like. Have fun and tell me if you get any errors.
